Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED · JULY 26, 2026
The short version: No accounts, no ads, and we never sell your data. The App collects only anonymous usage statistics to help us improve it. Your music, your files and your audio settings stay on your device.
Who we are
Equalizer ("the App") is an iOS application developed and published by Md Khaled Hasan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App does — and does not — handle when you use it.
Data we collect
The App collects anonymous usage statistics through Google Firebase Analytics so we can understand which features are used and improve the App. This includes:
- Usage events — for example which screens are opened and which features are used
- General device information — device model, iOS version, language and approximate location derived from your IP address (country or city level; the App never uses GPS)
- A randomly generated app-instance identifier used to count sessions (not your name, email, phone number, or advertising ID)
This data is not linked to your identity and is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Google processes it on our behalf as described in the Firebase privacy documentation.
The App does not have:
- User accounts or sign-in of any kind
- Advertising networks or ad identifiers
- Access to your contacts, precise (GPS) location, camera, microphone, or photos
- Any collection of your music, imported files, or listening content — audio never leaves your device
Information that stays on your device
To function, the App stores some information locally on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere and is deleted when you delete the App:
- Audio settings — your equalizer curves, custom presets, bass/boost levels, effect settings and per-device preset assignments
- Preferences — theme choice, default preset, repeat mode and similar options
- Imported audio files — copies of the files you choose to import, kept in the App's private storage
- Playback history — a short local list of recently played tracks, used only to show the "Recently Played" row
Music library access
With your permission, the App reads your device's music library so it can list and play your songs. This access is used solely for playback and equalization on your device. The App never uploads, indexes, or transmits your library or listening habits. You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings, and the App continues to work with imported files.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store's StoreKit system. We never see or store your name, payment details, or billing information. Apple provides the App only with an anonymous confirmation that a subscription is active. Apple's handling of your purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
This website
This website is a set of static pages hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. It uses no cookies and runs no analytics scripts. As with virtually all web hosting, Google's infrastructure may temporarily log standard technical data (such as IP addresses) for security and operational purposes, as described in Google's Firebase privacy documentation. We do not access or use such logs to identify anyone.
Children's privacy
The App is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. The anonymous usage statistics described above are not linked to any individual and contain no personal data.
Your rights
We hold no personal data that identifies you, so there is nothing for us to disclose, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your settings and files live on your device; deleting the App removes them and resets the anonymous analytics identifier. For purchase records, contact Apple through your App Store account. If you have any privacy question or request, email us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If the App's data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds an online feature — this policy will be updated before that version ships, with the "last updated" date revised above. Material changes will also be noted in the App's update notes.
