Frequently asked questions

Why do some songs show a "NO EQ" badge?

Those tracks are protected by digital rights management (DRM) — typically songs from a streaming subscription. No iOS app can apply audio effects to DRM-protected content. They still play normally, just without effects. Songs you import and DRM-free tracks in your library get the full equalizer.

How do I import my own music?

Open the Library tab and tap Import. You can pick audio files (MP3, M4A, WAV, FLAC and more) from the Files app — including iCloud Drive and other storage providers — or receive them via AirDrop and open them in the App. Imported songs show their embedded cover art, title and artist.

My purchase isn't showing as Premium. What do I do?

Open Settings → Restore purchases inside the App (also available on the paywall). Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still doesn't restore, email us with your approximate purchase date.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: open your device's Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Equalizer and tap Cancel. You keep Premium until the end of the paid period. The App's Settings → Manage subscription row takes you there directly. Refund requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.

My per-device preset isn't applying automatically.

Check three things: the device rule's auto-apply toggle is on (Settings → Device presets), the App is running, and the device name matches (renamed Bluetooth devices create a new entry — assign the preset again). Auto-apply is a Premium feature.

The volume boost sounds different at maximum. Why?

That's the built-in limiter protecting the sound. When boost pushes audio near clipping, the limiter transparently reduces peaks so it stays clean instead of distorting — you'll see the LIMIT indicator light up when it's working.

Does the App collect any of my data?

No accounts, no ads, and nothing that identifies you. The App collects only anonymous usage statistics (via Google Firebase) so we can improve features — never your music, your files, or personal information. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I reset the equalizer or effects?

Double-tap any fader or knob to reset it to zero. The Effects screen has a RESET button that clears pitch, speed and spatial at once. Selecting the Flat preset zeroes the whole EQ curve.
